Getting from A to B

One of Clyde Gateway’s objectives in 2015 has been to promote sustainable transport within the Glasgow area. When they needed a partner to help get their message out there – they approached Dezign Fanatics to enhance their offline marketing and build an informative and engaging online portal. Working closely with their Transport Co-ordinator, Pat Docherty, the portal is aimed at residents, business and investors. It uses a mix of custom maps and third party API highlight the many and growing options available from bus, train, car, cycle and on foot.  Working with a limited budget the project challenged us to get from A to B – and meant planning our own journey very thoroughly. In the words of Ernest Hemingway “It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.”

Take a seat – lets talk

This project turned out to be a cosy little number – not because it was easy,  Business founder Shameem Ahmed approached Dezign Fanatics looking for a name, identity, website and promotional material that was fresh and professional. We took a seat on the sofa and discovered more about her area of expertise – person centred counselling, relationship counselling, mental health first aid training, stressless workshops, Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and much more. Developing brands is kind of like a counselling session – it involves digging deep, sharing thoughts, exploring possibilities and a lot of self reflection – so you come out like a brand new person oozing positivity and energy. Brands are like people – they need time out to evaluate and stay on track with their objectives. Its good to talk – give us a call.

In the zone

When Sabre Safety Ltd developed its newground-breaking zone 1 compressor – SabreAir into the market place – we were asked to a create an innovative product brochure that provides the key benefits to the audience – acting as a leave behind and encourage sales as part of sales. Detailed close ups, freestanding 360 views, and a playful graphic zone pattern were used to reflect this products cutting edge compared to rival compressors. The brochure has opened up how the management are viewing print literature and there are thoughts of extending the strategy across all the products and services on offer. Like SabreAir – we like to get as close to the action as possible.

The Colours of a Winner

Colours of Islam, the Scottish based charity that has raised tens of thousands of pounds bringing smiles to sick children in hospitals and hospices throughout Scotland, was voted Muslin Community Charity of the year at the British Muslim Awards in Manchester. COI has tapped into the generosity of UK Muslim charitable donations and raised awareness of the importance of contributing to local needs and initiatives that aid in community bridge building.

Having worked with the charity with pro bon support on branding and communication since its inception in 2008, Dezign Fanatics would like to congratulate all those involved. Fanatics Partner Naghat Basheer is currently providing project management support for 2014 flagship fundraising event.

Better by Dezign

Dezign Fanatics is proud to announce the arrival of its latest project arrival – C.U.B. (Comfortable Upright Birth). C.U.B. is the brainchild of Birth Sparks owner and former midwife Cass McNamara. Birth Sparks was a winner of £30,000 from the Scottish EDGE fund to develop a new, innovative and patented product for women to use during childbirth, and is located in The (Sir Tom) Hunters Foundation’s facility at the Olympic Business Park in Dundonald, Ayrshire. As a new product innovation it is set to take the maternity and birth stool market by storm. Having won the project through tender against two other creative agencies, due to our ability to demonstrate a better understanding of the innovation and benefits of the product – we are working closely with Birth Sparks on brand development and communication – whilst the prototype is going through tweaks and manufacturing processes are finalised.

Delivery to include Brand identity, strapline, website, packing design, leaflets and info graphics. It’s fair to say we have our hands full.

Something for Everyone

As we enter 2014 and the Commonwealth Games, Dezign Fanatics continues its working relationship with Clyde Gateway in its regeneration of Glasgow’s East End, through the design and production of a Community Benefits Brochure. Highlighting the range of work carried out inside the community from construction, environmental awareness, lifestyle promotions, sponsorships, jobs and training and events – the brochure provides case studies which positively effect everyone in the area.

The brochure aims to help the good news travel faster and keep the momentum going.

Talking your Language

Dezign Fanatics has rebranded Scotland’s leading translation and interpreting company – Global Language Services. The project has included offline and online delivery. The process involved raising awareness of branding with the owners George and Frances Runciman and ongoing consultancy regarding how to best integrate activities with the services on offer. One of the major challenges was working with a core team that has it hands full 24/7. In many ways it stressed how important it is to utilise external resources to keep your marketing activities moving.

The owners have been brilliant in being ready to listen to good advice and accept changes are needed, even though the business has been incredibly successful to date. Even a business providing translation and interpreting needs help in articulating its message – through the universal language of design.

DF get 2012 off on a high with Sabre Safety Ltd

Dezign Fanatics have been appointed to design Sabre Safety Ltd’s, H2S awareness training booklet. It is a first project in the oil and gas sector for the fanatics, and one they are really looking forward to. Sabre Safety Ltd, are world leaders in providing Hydrogen Sulfide H2S Safety Services. Creative Director, Khalid Raza adds – “it’s a throwback to the days when I designed the instructions for use manual guidelines for Philips Electronics. It shows the span of our creative know-how – large format campaigns to websites to handy little booklets” – all given the same level of importance. They says design is in the detail – it certainly will be in this case. We look forward to even bigger things with Sabre Safety in the year ahead.

MADE up on being asked to develop brand and core campaign

London based charity, Made in Europe, have appointed Dezign Fanatics to help develop their brand and core fundraising campaign. “MADE”, is much more than a regular charity. It’s main aim is to encourage young muslims to put their faith into practice and provides resource for campaigning, educating and volunteering, to address global issues such food crisis, infant deaths, climate change etc. The project involves branding philosophy & identity guidelines, and a concept which aims to change behaviour, attract volunteers and request donations. A restricted budget adds to the challenge of the project, but one the Fanatics could not resist due to the mirroring belief that charity on its own, for which the muslim community is extremely generous with, is not enough on its own.

What’s it called? – Cumbernauld (Mosque)

After a number of years providing pro-bon support for Scotland’s newest purpose built mosque project, and more recently the delivery of branding work for a community centre initiative in Kensington, London, Dezign Fanatics have been commissioned to design a calendar to help encourage the completion of the project in Cumbernauld. With the building nearly two thirds complete, the final push is on for much needed donations.
